Our Church

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Holy Scripture is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

It is completely true in all that it affirms and is the final and sufficient foundation for faith, doctrine, and life. Through Scripture, God reveals Himself, His redemptive plan, and His love for His people.

    (2 Timothy 3:16–17, 2 Peter 1:20–21)

  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three coequal, coeternal Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) a perfect unity of love and glory.

God is infinitely holy, all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, and sovereign over all creation.

We worship one God in trinity and the trinity in unity.

    (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

  • We believe God the Father is Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and the sustainer of all things seen and unseen.

He reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of human history according to His gracious purposes.

    (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 6:9, Romans 11:36)

  • We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternally begotten and coeternal Son of God, true God and true man.

He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin, Mary, lived a sinless life, and fulfilled the Law perfectly.

He died on the cross as our substitute, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and to consummate His eternal Kingdom.

Salvation is found in Christ alone.

    (John 1:1–3, 14, Philippians 2:5–11, 1 Corinthians 15:3–4)

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is fully and eternally God.

He convicts the world of sin, regenerates sinners, and indwells all believers.

He seals them unto the day of redemption, sanctifies them, distributes spiritual gifts for service, and empowers the church for Christ’s mission.

He illuminates Scripture, leads God’s people in truth, and produces spiritual fruit in the life of every believer.

    (John 14:26, John 16:8, John 6:63, 2 Peter 1:21)

  • We believe God created humanity, male and female, in His image, with dignity, value, and purpose.

Though created good, humanity fell into sin through disobedience, bringing corruption, separation from God, and death into the world.

All people are sinners by nature and by choice and stand in need of salvation, which comes only through Jesus Christ.

    (Genesis 1:26–27, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12)

  • We believe the universal Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all believers in every age and place.

Local churches are congregations of baptized believers who covenant together to worship, disciple one another, celebrate the ordinances, and carry out Christ’s mission.

The church is God’s primary instrument for making disciples and proclaiming the gospel to the nations.

    (Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 12:12–14, Matthew 28:19–20)

  • We believe Christ has given His church two ordinances: Baptism and Holy Communion.

    • Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water as a testimony of union with Christ in His death and resurrection. It is an act of obedience that signifies regeneration and entrance into the covenant community. It is a means of grace for strengthening faith. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:3–4, Ephesians 4:5, Colossians 2:12-13)

    • Holy Communion is a sacred meal in which believers remember Christ’s finished work, proclaim His death, and receive spiritual nourishment by faith. Christ is spiritually present with His people, and the Supper is given for the strengthening of believers. (1 Corinthians 10:16–17, 1 Corinthians 11:23–26, Matthew 26:26-28, John 6:53-58)

The ordinances serve as God-ordained means that confirm the gospel, build up the church, and point us to Christ

  • We believe Jesus Christ will return personally, visibly, and gloriously.

He will raise the dead, judge all people in righteousness, and establish the fullness of His Kingdom.

Believers will dwell forever with God in a restored creation, and the wicked will face eternal separation from Him.

    (Acts 1:11, Matthew 25:31–32, Revelation 21:1–4)

  • We believe God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society.

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment.

Husband and wife are equal in dignity and worth.

Parents are to love, nurture, discipline, and disciple their children, teaching them the ways of the Lord and modeling the Christian faith in the home.

    (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:22-33, Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

  • We believe education is a vital part of Christian discipleship and human flourishing.

God commands His people to teach His truth diligently to the next generation.

All truth is God’s truth, and every field of study reveals something of God’s wisdom, order, and beauty.

The church supports and equips Jesus followers, especially families, as they pursue Christ-centered formation in their heart and mind.

    (Proverbs 1:7, Deuteronomy 6:6–7, 2 Timothy 3:16–17, John 8:32, 2 Peter 3:18)

  • We affirm the following creeds and confessions:

    1. The Apostles Creed

    2. The Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed

    3. The Athanasian Creed

    4. The Baptist Faith and Message 2000
